What to Expect at WOIBC

We are, without apology, an old-fashioned, independent, soul-winning, Bible-believing, mission-minded local Baptist church, with ministries for every member of your family. Here are answers to the questions first-time guests ask most.

What kind of church are you?

We have a strong Bible-based teaching ministry and believe in saturating everything we do in the Word of God. You will hear hearty “Amens!” and verbal praise to God in our services. No matter your age, there is something here for you.

What Bible do you use?

We believe and use the King James Bible. If you do not have a Bible, we will provide one for you during the service.

What is the music like?

We cling to the old ways: traditional, Christ-honoring hymns sung from hymnals, with hearty congregational singing. Our music is conservative yet lively rather than contemporary.

What should I wear?

Pastor McAfee is more concerned with your spiritual state than your appearance. Most women choose modest skirts or dresses and most men wear suits or dress pants, but we want you to feel welcome however you are dressed.

Am I expected to give?

No. We do not invite you here for your money, and we do not pass an offering plate. As our guest you are not expected to give. If you would like to, there is a giving box in the back of the church. Use an offering envelope and fill out the front if you would like a year-end receipt. You can also give online.

What about my children?
  • Every service: a safe, clean, well-staffed nursery for children two and under, and children’s church for ages three to eight.
  • Sunday School (9:30 AM): classes for children and adults. Classes are dismissed after the general assembly and each teacher guides their class to the right room.
  • Wednesday evening: youth ministry for children 4 to 12, plus nursery.
What do you offer adults?

Adult Sunday School covers many subjects of the Bible, and Wednesday nights are a verse-by-verse, college-level teaching through the Scriptures. We also offer a Basic Bible Beliefs class for new members and new Christians.
